FlipShare TV Demonstration
FlipShare TV arrived. It's out of the box. I took a video of my TV playing a Flip movie on my HD TV, wirelessly, from my computer.
Use this topic for discussion of FlipShare TV.
FlipShare TV is a hardware package consisting of:
- A set-top box that connects to your TV
- A USB 'dongle' that transmits video and photos from your computer to your TV, wirelessly
- A remote control
- Power supply and TV connection cable
If you explore the "FlipShare TV" topic in the right hand column, you can see that I have been interested in this development for some months now. Today is the day when one finally arrive on my doorstep.
It's been a busy day. I began by creating a blog post, with photos and descriptions of the unboxing. I ended the day by hooking up the gear, playing video from my computer upstairs to my HDTV downstairs, and filming the whole TV set-up and audition with my Canon HF10, resulting in this video demonstration of FlipShare TV.
I think this is the beginning of a new direction for consumer video, which is video communication, leading eventually to video telepresence. I'll be interested to hear what you think.
