Cisco, which acquired Pure Digital and its line of Flip pocket camcorders in 2009, has made the decision to close down its Flip business. You can read more about it here:

FlipInFocus.com has already ceased taking new members, and will likewise bring an end to new content development. This has been a fun ride for me, but it seems to be one of those good things that must come to an end. I spotted the writing on the wall a few months back when Cisco failed to provide me with review units of its 60fps products, or send me any updates about future plans.

I and the rest of my family retain enthusiasm for our Flips, and will continue to use them until their little hearts wear out. Their combination of convenience and quality is still unique at their price points.

I want to thank you all for your support of this site over the last few years. I have enjoyed exploring this technology, and also my interactions with FlipInFocus members.
